replied: "This is now the Royal Amphitheater. And learn to refer to your clinical theories, not my sayings. You will need to change the other inscriptions as well. In time, most people will come to believe that there never really was a Serpent, just as they will believe that there is no such thing as God. And then, this profession will really rock!"

"What if church people want to join us? After all, there are doctors that go to church." Everyone groaned at the very thought. The Serpent replied: "That is no problem at all! In fact, that will happen and it is a good thing. You are missing the big picture! The principles I have taught you, the clinical theories that have been developed, are in no way compatible with what is taught in church. They will try to integrate serpentology—or whatever you will now call it—with what they teach in church and we will always be triumphant. They will learn from us and not the other way around. So what is now an impossible dream will someday become a reality: We will bring enlightenment to the churches. Church people will come to us! Imagine!"

Everyone was speechless. The Serpent slowly looked around at the multitude of professionals and there was a grin on his face so profound that nobody had ever seen anything like it before! And then he said this: "I go to prepare a place for you that where I am, there you may be also. You do not understand now, but you will understand later!" And the Serpent slowly looked around one final time, with that grin still on his face, and then he disappeared, never to be seen again.
